وكان ابناء المدرب جوزيه مورينيو مركزين جدا عكس المباريات السابقة في الليجا والاداء الهزيل امام خيتافي واشبيلية

وتابع ريال مدريد هجماته ولكن لم يكن هناك استغلال من مهاجميه لينتهي الشوط الاول بنتيجة 1/0

خلال الشوط الثاني واصل ريال مدريد بنفس النهج في محاولة لانهاء آمال فريق فاليكانو وخلال الدقيقة 70 واثر لمسة يد من لاعب الفريق المستضيف تحصل ريال مدريد على ركلة جزاء التي حولها بنجاح كريستيانو رونالدو مغالطا الحارس "روبين"

وكنات هناك عدة فرص في نهاية المباراة لفريق جوزيه مورينيو ولكن لم تستغل من هيجوين اوزيل وابن ماديرا
